Hope and Football Return to Sedaví Municipal Sports Centre

More than 250 children from CF Atlético Sedaví return to the renovated football pitch

The football field at the Sedaví Municipal Sports Center reopened its doors this Tuesday, May 20, after being renovated thanks to Valencia CF, through the Fundació VCF, LALIGA EA SPORTS, Divina Seguros, and the donations made to the ‘FILA CERO SOLIDARIA’.

“It is a great pleasure to see this pitch. I cried the day I came to see it because I'm a mother like many of you, and I had my children playing here on this very pitch. It moves me deeply to see the pitch restored, to see the children coming here to enjoy themselves and grow. I want to once again thank everyone who contributed to the donation. Sedaví is a beautiful town. To the children: I hope you celebrate this, achieve many successes, and that we can all celebrate for many years to come. This pitch is for you,” said the Director of the VCF Foundation, Inma Ibáñez.

The inauguration event was attended by the General Director of Valencia CF – Javier Solís, the Director of the Fundació VCF – Inma Ibáñez, Valencia CF player – Diego López, Club ambassadors – Ricardo Arias, Miguel Ángel Bossio and Miguel Tendillo, the General Director of Sports GVA – Luis Cervera, the President of the FFCV – Salvador Gomar, the President of Divina Seguros – Armando Nieto, the President of the VCF Footballers’ Association – Fernando Giner, the President of the Agrupació de Penyes Valencianistes – Fede Sagreras, board members of the VCF Minority Shareholders Association – Luis Martínez and Ramiro Ocio, the President of CF Atlético Sedaví – Fernando García, and the Mayor of Sedaví – José Francisco Cabanes.

More than 250 boys and girls from the partner school CF Atlético Sedaví enjoyed a day that began with an entertainment activity featuring Valencia CF’s official mascot, ‘AMUNT’. This was followed by speeches from the representatives of the various organizations involved. After that, the commemorative plaque of the football pitch was unveiled, and to conclude the event, a training session took place with coaches from the VCF Academy and the partner school CF Atlético Sedaví.

The reconstruction of the football fields also highlights the collaborative spirit of the ‘Escoles VCF’ project of the VCF Academy. Through this initiative, the 43 schools involved not only benefit from the methodology, talent, and training of a globally recognized reference model, but also strengthen ties and build relationships between clubs, with Valencia CF as the catalyst.

PARTNERSHIPS WITH RENOWNED ENTITIES

The official insurer of Valencia CF, Divina Seguros, joined the Club’s solidarity initiative – ‘UNITS COM SEMPRE’ – from the beginning, matching the highest donation made to the FILA CERO SOLIDARIA. In addition, Divina Seguros provided, at no cost, private health coverage for accidents and illnesses to more than a thousand boys and girls from football schools affected by the DANA flash floods.

“I want to thank Valencia CF for organizing the reconstruction of the fields, the fans who contributed their money, Peter Lim, and Divina Seguros. I also want to thank the parents who sacrifice hours of their lives every day to bring their children to training. The kids need to be playing, learning to win, to lose, and to work as a team. This is also education,” emphasised the President of Divina Seguros, Armando Nieto.

Furthermore, this Valencian company delivered a musical instrument to the Santa Cecilia Musical Group of Sedaví, in collaboration with Valencia CF and the Fundació VCF.

LALIGA EA SPORTS also contributed to the restoration of the field as part of its FC FUTURES project, which aims to guarantee easy and quality access to football for children and young people around the world. As part of this project, footballs and sports equipment have also been donated to the affected schools in the area.
